I loved the festival! I thought the vendors were such high quality… Another favourite was the hanbok experience. There was also such a variety of food vendors to choose from, it was a delight 🙌. It was so wonderfully organized, I will definitely come again!

This was my first time volunteering at an event organized by Koreans, and I have to say—it really caught my attention… Honestly, it felt like I had traveled to Korea without leaving the country. It was such a fun and meaningful experience, and I’m already planning to join again next year!

I enjoyed the helpful volunteers and the multiple different experiences of the Korean culture. From wearing a hanbok to seeing the food culture, it was amazing!❤️

![The Soul of Korea: Why Making Kimchi is a UNESCO Ritual
What looks like massive winter food prep is actually Korea’s most heartwarming ritual. It’s called 'Kimjang' (김장).
In 2013, UNESCO recognized Kimjang not just as cooking, but as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Why? Because it isn't just about the cabbage—it's about community, survival, and the uniquely Korean concept of 'Jeong' (정) — a deep connection built through sharing.
Think of it as the original soul food potluck, where neighbors and generations gather to ensure everyone is fed and warm for the long winter.
You don't need a snowy traditional courtyard to experience this spirit today. In Vancouver or Toronto, it’s simply about gathering your favorite people around good food.
This weekend, embrace the true spirit of Kimjang. Invite friends over, crack open a jar of fresh kimchi, and share the warmth. That connection is the real taste of Korea. 🥢
